Coronado

The drive through the town is wonderful….I was visiting California with my friend and we went to the beach ready for a dip in the Pacific…...WELL…......it was ICE COLD…in JULY!!! What SHOCK!!!!

Too exspensive to stay there, but it is so much fun pretending to vacation there.

In one of my brother Tim’s true moments of generosity, he let my wife and I stay there in May of 2003. Intel had put him up in some swanky high rise with a view of the ocean. He was out that weekend, and my wife and I slummed there. The Cornado Hotel, though pricey, was a great walk through

Keep in mind I grew up in a Navy family, so I was all over the place. But my dad worked mostly in the sub force, so since there’s a major base in San Diego, we mostly lived in Coronado, where my parents first lived before I was born. Kept coming back time and again over the years, to the point where my folks bought a house there, improving it a bit every time we came back. I’ve barely returned there since my folks moved away after dad retired, but my occasional visits since have always been a nice mix of distant memories and appreciation for what the place is like now. I’ll always love it.

Across the Bay from Downtown San Diego. Any way you get there, Ferry, Bridge, or Silver Strand, you know you are in a different town when you get there. Things just seem a cut above from the moment you arrive!

The Hotel Del Coronado is a location not to be missed! Beautiful! They don’t make them like THAT anymore!

the beach is amazing, and the whole place is overall beautiful. make sure you go inside the hotel and look in all the little shops. Also go to the beach, and mall around coronado. in addition, there is a ferry that goes from here to Seaport Village, so you could visit both in one day.

I grew up in Coronado. It’s not a place for partying (that’s for the various beaches across the bay). Go for the beach, to bike around, to surf, to tan. Locals drink at “The Brig” (The Brigantine, which has been around forever), and McP’s. The Del is a must visit, although the restaurants are mostly over-priced… wander around, try to sneak into the pool for a swim, and have a drink at the bar.

a beautiful place to just go and relax and “get away from it all”. The town is kind of like mayberry in a sense, and almost seems as if it were left behind in the population boom. quiet, but quaint and comfortable. recommended for all ages :)

Went and stayed at the Hotel Del. Most relaxing time! I loved walking around the island, going out to eat here, and most of all the beach! Plus, its right near downtown San Diego.

Beautiful area but a little cramped. Worth walking around for a while, and has great views of the San Diego skyline. Plus, the bridge in is just unreal.
