Joplin

Very pretty drive coming in from AR.

lived there for seven years or so, graduated MSSU. Loved my friends, miss my family, but never going to live there again!

Way too humid. It was over 110 degrees out when I went.

Joplin is a really cool place. The mall is decent, although there are too many clothes stores and not enough specialty shops…at least they are currently in the process of remodeling it.

There are tons of good eateries. My faves are The Red Onion, Mythos Greek restaurant and Garfields at the mall.

Main street is an interesting mix of old and new. Some of the surrounding area is just seedy bars and sports bars…but if that is your kind of thing, you are in luck.

The library is brilliant for this area!

A nice place to live. Well, not as great as some, but if you happen to be stuck in the Ozarks/4-State Area…this is one of your best bets.

I was born here in December of 1969. My parents were going to college at MU. Still looking for an old friend that moved here back in high school named Julie Scrivener…. anyone know her?

My first venture into the heartland, in 9th grade (??). I don’t remember much of it because I was there for a piano competition and was only there for a few days. My favorite dress ever is from a thrift store somewhere round there.

Experienced high school years here. Now into adulthood, I find myself back here writing software. Worth visiting? Well, maybe for a short stop while you’re travelling somewhere else.

Yeah, I guess it’s okay.
