Destin

It was beuutiful needless to say. We went on a boat to look for Dolphins and we wouldn’t have found them if the capt. was looking. lol I spotted them first and they are friendly. We stayed on the beach. People for the most part were friendly. The driving was nice, but the Restaurant: The Black Pearl was not kid friendly at all! Even though they have a “kids” menu. That was 140.00 lunch down the drain. I want to go back.

This is where I saw the ocean for the first time. Somewhere, I have a photograph of the actual view- there was a wooden bridge that led through tall grasses and opened up to the beach.

I remember the sand here being sticky, impossible to wash off.

I loved Destin.. I stayed in a really nice condo and drank a lot and swam.. it was fun. Went in August of 2004

I had an awesome weekend with two of my best friends. It’s so beautiful…I want to go back very very soon!

Destin is a great place, but it’s still a little touristy. Many of the restaurants are tourist traps that look fun on the outside, and serve overpriced crap on the inside. If you know some locals, check with them when picking a place to eat. There are some great places to eat outside of Destin down hiway 30A, like the Red Bar, and Criolla’s.

Destin has to be my most favorite beach in the continental United States. It’s great everytime I go there, (despite my first time going there and a hurricane keeping us limited) and I always want to go back. If I could, I would go back every year. The temperature is perfect, the people are nice, and the shopping is fun too! The only downside was due to it’s recent overpopulation on the beaches. I guess everyone realized how awesome this place really is! ;)

You could say I was here because the bus I was on went right through Destin; no lie; I got to see all the little places and have a good time too; but would like to set foot on it;

It’s a beautiful city. Very pleasing to the eye. A trip to the beach is a must!!

I went here for the 2nd time in Dec. 05. A friend was working with the Corps in Passe Christian, MS to help with Hurrican Katrina clean up and my whole goal was to relax, unwind and be spoiled here at the Sandestin Hilton Resort. Instead, I checked into the hotel in Destin and made my way to emotionally and mentally rescue my friend from all he had seen. After being beside him for 3 days, I was so grateful to be able to return to the Sandestin Resort in Destin and civilization. Hurricane Katrina had humbled me and I realized that no matter how little you think you have, there are others that have less. I appreciated my stay here more than ever and intend to make it a yearly trip.
