Annecy

A few months ago, my boyfriend and I drove from Vercelli, Italy to Annecy for our 1-year anniversary. After having lunch by the lake and walking around the town, we went up to the castle, the Chateau d’Annecy. In a corner of the courtyard, overlooking the village and the lake and the mountains, he asked me to marry him! A fairy-tale setting for a fairy-tale moment.

Beautiful town and unbeliveable lake!! Go in the summer, tons to do and see!

was just two weeks ago (june 11-15, 2007). I was there for the animation festival which was a big event for the city. Didn’t know what to expect but turned out falling in love with the place. It’s quaint and charming and I strongly recommend it. And if you do go, you might want to consider staying at Hotel Flamboyant, at the entrance of the city. The people are really nice and so is the hotel.

I think Annecy is wonderful. I’ve been a couple of times. The old part of Annecy is very very attractive. The lake is crystal clear and the beaches can be a great place to be, if you don’t mind preening French teen lads and lasses being themselves. I recommend getting a pedalo or something and just taking yourself out into the lake on a hot day. Beautiful.

The people are so so sooooo nice here! Very welcoming! And the best mousse au chocolat I’ve ever had!

...after the ceremony, we took a cruise around the lake. It was beautiful. I’d love to go back and explore a bit more the surrounding area.

It is so so so beautiful! I didn’t get to stay very long, but what I did get to see was amazing. If you’re in the area anyway, be sure to visit!

Such a cute little French town. The markets were great…had an amazing picnic lunch.

after a few days in this place (March ‘06) I want to pack my bags and move there. The markets were amazing, as was the lazy walk around Lac Annnecy. Can i go back now?

It’s just beautiful! I first went in 1989 in July and it was like going to Disney World!

I went back in 2004 with my husband!
