I would defintely go again.

It will take you at least 3 days to go thru the museum it is so freaking huge. I personally liked the european art section the best. A map with floor plan is a must to avoid missing anything.

Set aside the better part of an afternoon, especially a rainy or cold afternoon, because it takes quite a while to go through the museum.

I would gladly spend the rest of my life in this Museum. Put me in a glass case at the MET ..with the mummies. Perfectly acceptable.

Amazing! One of my favorite places to go in the whole city.
Go slow and take it all in everything is magnificent. I never pass up the Arms & Armor exhibit – be sure to give that one a look! Someday I want to get myself locked in for the night. I love it so much.

I usually just flash my student ID and give ‘em a few nickels. I’m a student…they don’t expect much money-wise :)

Tip: Pack a lunch. Food there is pricey (of course) and you get hungry quickly.

I went to an elementary school 4 blocks from this grand museum. When it rained my friends and I used to pay a quarter between the 4 of us (Jean, James and Billy I hope you’re all kicking ass these days) and we snuck our lunch into the Egyptian tombs. Not a place where you wanna be when someone farts, btw…

It is possibly the world’s greatest museum and a must-see.

My tip is this: if you don’t have the money do not pay the suggested admission. Just smile and look confident and give ‘em what you can. Even a quarter will do, seriously.

The Met is a wonderful place with something for everyone. I never get bored when I am there. The Rooftop bar offers a fabulous view of Central Park.

Yes, the admission is “suggested”. My attitude is that you pay what you can afford. If I have the cash I do pay full price. It helps me feel better for the times when money was tight and I only afford to pay a dollar.

The Suggested donation is “suggested” you don’t have to give anything, but I usually give them a dollar…

the met is amazing, whether you have an hour or a week, theres always something to look at. i love to bring my sketchbook and draw the sculptures, especially in the egyptian wing. it’s my favorite place because it has such a aura, i almost can imagine myself being in ancient egypt thousands of eyars ago. definitely worth visiting many times…

the Metropolitan Museum of Art is awesome. I want to go back, of course. the only thing I’m sad about is that they don’t have the fountains and restaurant from From The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler anymore.
