Flagstaff

I went to NAU for three years, so if you want any recommendations for traveling in this area, let me know.

My home town.. I miss it. :(

At the end of November 2007. I caught the first snow of the season, but not the exciting-draws-crowds type of snow. Unfortunately it was rainy-cold-enough-to-be-unpleasant snow. Which is why I want to back to either enjoy warm-weather hikes, or fluffy snow activity.

I stepped off the Amtrak at 10 p.m. to the sounds of jazz wafting through the air. What more could you ask for? The bar was just the other side of the tracks….

Fun little town. Great places to go out to drink & eat.

Flagstaff is an incredible city. The first time I went I absolutely fell in love. It’s beautifully green (during the warm months) and lush. Hiking around the volcano up there was fabulous. The town is situated right across from the university and you can really feel the energy of the mix of locals. Definitely look into visiting the planetarium. This town is great for outdoors, indoors, history, eating, and just plain hanging out. Take a drive through some of the neighborhoods… so cute!

Flagstaff is one of the most beautiful areas and places I’ve ever been to and I’ve been practically everywhere in the United States as a long haul truck driver. Flag has the best of both worlds, snow in the Wintertime and warm weather in the Summertime. The mountains in and around Flagstaff are some of the most picturesque sites you’ll ever see. I haven’t had much contact with the locals but I did stop once at the Little America truckstop and the people there were very friendly and helpful. Apparently it’s a little expensive to live there as far as I’m concerned, it would be worth it. Two thumbs up for Flag.

My fiance and I decided to go for a fun day trip. When we got there we decided to go to the “Snowbowl” and do some snowboarding. I’d never been but thought it would be fun. By the time we got to the top it was white-out conditions. We drove my little Audi TT. It was the scariest drive I’ve ever made. Took us nearly 2 hours from the top of the mountain back down to Flagstaff…Yikes

i drove up there by myself from phoenix just to play in the snow. i got a hotel room and then went walking around town. i loved the snow crunching under my shoes and cleaning the inches of snow off my car. it was awesome. flag is a neat place.
