This is my current home…I love it here and it’s going to be hard to top whenever I have to leave.

I felt in love with Hawaii!!!

love this place. but i cant live here for too long otherwise i go crazy with their laid-back “island time” attitudes. stayed in kailua the summer after i graduated high school. i shaved y head and surfed (haha, that was the plan but actually only surfed for a few days and had the mohawk for a while before totally shaving head).

beautiful misty mountained drive to waikiki everyday practically.

It’s awesome. Plain and simple. Almost like Disney World, except not as magical—but still pretty damn cool.

bring lots of money

Oahu is busy but it’s fun. There’s a lot of nightlife in Honolulu Waikiki area. Walking around at night, meeting people, shopping… The surf is friendly in Waikiki/ A perfect place if you have little ones.

get out of waikiki IMMEDIATELY and get up to the North Shore. It really is paradise. Go to the Audoban center and trek all the way in … swimming under the waterfall there feels like you are in a movie. Make sure you get an acei bowl at one of the surfer spots for breakfast. Go up to see the ancient Hawaiian sacred precinct and enjoy the best view to appreciate the power of the waves building strength miles from the shore.

Overpriced and unfriendly are the first two words that come to mind. Beautiful scenery and perfect weather are the two phrases that also fit. I recommend Maui or the Big Island, O’ahu’s beaches leave much to be desired as far as cleanliness and crowding.
