i went the week before last while i was visiting london. i really wanted to check out that metal slide installation (forgive me, i’ve forgotten the artist’s name at the moment) which will be there until april so i recommend getting over there if you can. it was a wonderful time! the only thing is, i arrived too late in the day to get a pass to the highest level of the slides. maybe it was for the better, level four turned out to be more than i anticipated for sure. levels three and four are both completely worth it. the rush is when you are sitting on the little canvas mat they give you, your heart is pounding, and you realize there really is no backing out. you go so fast! i bumped my elbows. don’t be fooled because the box of helmets and knee/elbow guards aren’t just there for the weaklings.
they also have a great gift shop and beautiful other rooms to wander through. very unique pieces to view. i liked the room by mark rothko because it was nice to sit down in the dark for awhile, fixate on the art and reflect. had it not been so close to closing, i probably could have stayed a lot longer. a definite recommendation.
