Rotorua

If you’re gonna visit one geothermal park, make it Wai-O-Tapu, it is the best and most colourful one. Orako Korakei on the road to Taupo is also wort a visit, you need to get a boat accross!

I’m travelling to Rotorua in July of 2008 with my school music program – we are entering a competition there. I am so PSYCHED about it!!!! =]

Rotorua is the principal centre of Maori people . I took the chance tho visit a Marae and a typical Maori warrior dance in their Temple, near a geyser camp. It was the most fascinating experience in my life.

Loved the place!! Even experienced a small earthquake…tremor, really, when we were there. NZ rocks!!

I arrived in Rotorua as the first stop on my New Zealand trip, and the first thing that hit me was the sulphur smell. You do get used to it after a while though.

The thing I enjoyed most about Rotorua and the surrounding area was the Maori culture. I know a lot of it is purely for tourist’s benefit, but I enjoyed looking at the arts and crafts and examples of the traditional way of life.

I also enjoyed the Thermal Park and the Skyline gondola and luge run was a lot of fun too :)

I love rotorua, it’s like no place i’ve ever been to it’s beautiful except of course the smell…
go to the mineral pools, the polynesian spa!!

One of my most favourite holiday spots in the North Island… have had many happy holidays here…neat city..beautiful lakes surrounding the city…the thermal activity is amazing…always enjoyed the shopping there as well!

The thing I remember most about this place is THAT smell :-)

I was there in 1993. Visited farm, kiwifruit world, the park with water fountain.. it was great!

Go see the farm shows and watch people milk cows and sheer sheep.
