How this place changed my life
I moved here over two years ago, thinking I would only stay a couple of months! I’m still here and loving it, it’s a wonderful place to live.

I loved 4-wheeling in the area. We used to go up every summer in and around this area. Such a beautiful, quaint place. A bit on the liberal side, but who cares? It’s great to visit and enjoy the outdoor life.

But didn’t have time. There’s a lot to do for a couple of days in the downtown area. The air is crisp and clean. The people are a bit, well, “cracker” but you can’t blame them for that. Don’t look for a taco in town, if you know what I mean. But it has a real West feel and a sporting life atmosphere that’s invigorating. Love the weather!

Durango is a great town. There is never a shortage of outdoor activities. Skiing, kayaking, rafting, hiking, exploring… the list goes on. As a warning to those who want to move here, jobs are scarce and competitive. It’s primarily a tourist and retirement spot.

Well, sort of. I was born in Durango, but we lived in Ignacio at the time.

I love this small town in the mountains! It’s a nice place to live if you want to get away from a hectic lifestyle – very laidback! You can go hiking, climbing, cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, snowboarding, skiing, snow kayaking, etc etc etc…

If you like the outdoors, there are very few places better than durango. In the summer you can fish, raft, hike, bike, climb… In the winter you can ski, board, cross country ski, ... 1.75 hours west is Telluride, 2 hours sest is Moab Utah.

I grew up in Durango. Sure when I was there it was not as built up and all touristy but there were so many wonderful places to go and and things to do (if you like the outdoors). I remember way back when I was 8 years old or so, fishing right in the middle of town on the Anamous (sp) River. I went there after school and caught a whole lot of fish. I was so hooked on fishing that I lost track of time many days and came home to a very angry mother and a cold dinner. But it was worth it. Lots of fond memories and adventures I had in this wonderful part of the world.
