Four Corners

I want to be very silly and put one hand or foot in a different state and take a photo. How cute is that!
I can’t believe that we drove to New Mexico all those time over all these years and no one ever too the time to stop and do this. Well this Spring we are doing it!

I thought it’d be more of a tourist attraction but really it’s just…well, it’s just a slab on the ground with intersecting lines. And really, the area between these 4 states is not the most scenic part of America. It’s worth stopping though, I think, if youre passing through anyway. We ate a nice little Native American restaurant there, and that was cool.

The first time I ever visited this park was yesterday. It was fun. about as cool as you could expect, but a long drive for what it is. Also, there is a $3.00 entrance fee which is kinda dumb, but what are ya gonna do? It’s one of those things that you have to do at least once, if you already live in the south west, or if your just passing through. But not one of those things you would plan a trip for. Still, I’m glad that I did it.

If you happen to be passing by it, then stop. It’s an interesting little curiousity and there are some small shop stalls set up nearby to gouge you out of your money for souvenir trinkets (though you can find some nice stuff). All in all though, don’t plan a trip around it. It’s rather dull. You can take a picture of you standing in four states at once, but other than that there’s not much to do.

It was nothing special. I went just to say I had been there. The port-a-potties were the worst I had ever been in. The entrance fee was a rip off. But all of the other tourists were polite and everyone took turns taking photos and standing on the monument, so nobody was walking into the middle of your picture. So that was nice. Don’t expect much and you’ll be fine. Go, take your photos, and head on to the next destination.

It was kinda boring. When I went there were’t very many vendors selling so we didn’t get to look at much.
