Cannes

Nice sandy beach, lots of shopping, good resteraunts and cafe’s.

I was backpacking with someone and we were taking the train from Barcelona to Cinque Terre, Italy. When we heard the conductor say, “Next stop: Cannes” we looked at eachother and said, “Let’s get off!” We spent two nights there and it was lovely.

Sure I was 17 but I still remember . . .

it was 2001 summer when i ve been to Cannes. it was totally impressive on a southern Mediterranean city. city of cinema and sexy beaches..

Oh, my God. I love Cannes!! trés trés trés jolie!

It was not quite as amazing as I was expecting. Of course it was not during the festival and so I shall have to return when I am actually apart of the festival. (No giggling, it could happen).

Also, the femmes I were with were being rather tempermental and made it rather difficult to relax and enjoy the day.

Go to Nice instead! There’s more to do, for less money, and the view’s the same. Cannes seemed really expensive in comparison and I didn’t get an embracing sense of the culture. I didn’t stay there very long, but I could tell that Nice was better. Monaco would even be preferred. :-)

I went during the cannes film festival and although it is ritzy and chi chi and everthing like it, it is still a great experience. there are so many towns within driving distance that you can go off for wonderful adventures nearby.

Check out the beach on that one! Its spectacular. And the shopping through all the little market stalls is fantastic. This is an awesome place to visit and if you can get there during the film festival, so much the better.
