Hermitage Museum

Don’t try to do it all. Pick an exhibit or something you want to see, do it and bail. If you’re like me, after 6 hours in a museum like this you’ll stop getting anything out of it.

I have been impressed (really!!!) by Hermitage for its dimension, the colors mix of the facades, the place in front of where grims were there in various 10th to 19th century costumes to make pics and been paid too.

I had not enough time for the whole afternoon to visit, and did within 4 hours just a quater. But what I saw….IMPRESSIVE!

I would like to complete the whole museum.

I was also impressed by the items, and really believe that this is the richest museum of the whole world. May be I exagerate, but really close to therefore.

The Hermitage is a magnificent art museum. Second only to the Louvre, in my humbe opinion. Plan on 2 days to fully take in all the beautiful art and Russian history as well….Right down to the gold plated troika embedded with jewels, and the old, ornate Russian suits of Armor. A “must-see” for the art lover!

be sure to keep in mind exactly what art you want to see if you only have a day. This place is beautiful. I want to go back.

The Hermitage museum in Saint-Petersbugh is worth a trip there alone. The most amazing building I’ve ever been in. You’ll need a minimum of 2 days if you hurry through it. I had one day and with a museum guide-book literally ran from floor to floor to see as much as I could.

Picasso here, Picasso there, Picasso, Picasso everywhere!

Give yourself more than one day there! In fact when I went back for a second day they had sent some major works out on loan to another museum, and replaced them with other major works that had been sitting in their storage rooms!

I am excited.. there is a possibility that this coming spring I will be making a trip to St. Petersburg!! In the meantime I have to get reading a book about the Hermitage that my Professor reccomended.

Just an amazing collection of art and history.

except to say, it’s awesome. And one thing I’d like to note: the palace, the “warehouse” for the art, is as good as the collection. It’s incredible to see. The 3rd floor containing the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, was my favorite, but I really loved the gallery rooms themselves.
