Missoula

Talk about a friendly community. Everyone who lives here absolutely adores it. The number of nonprofits in this area is through the roof. Nothing better than a day downtown then camping in one of many beautiful mountain surroundings.

Taco del Sol, that pretty much says it all!

A must visit! We were traveling from California (drove from Spokane, Wa to Missoula) to pick up a friend and didn’t intend to stay but we absolutely loved it! It was early June and we arrived in the evening. The locals were wonderful and referred us to a great pizza place where we went next door to get beer that we could bring back inside. We walked around downtown a bit (it was chilly!) and met some local students who had graduated but didn’t want to leave. The next day we went to some downtown farmer’s markets and ate at a FABULOUS brewery where we sat outside on the second story. For you Californians…Missoula reminded me so much of San Luis Obispo but in the mountains. We will definitely return!

Missoula is a really great town. My mother and sister live there. It has all kinds of the most lovely shops and restaurants. Marvelous. Plus they have one of the top bagpipe bands in the country.

i grew up here, being their is almost no gan activity and it is very quiet and not as hectic to leave. my 15 mile commmute takes 20 min. i love that

It is the place where I could’ve spent the last 7 years of my life… and didn’t.

visit when it’s warm!

i’ve been here a few times (grandparents used to have a cabin nearby), but i remember telling my mom this past summer that if i could stand to live in a smaller city, i would probably move here. great, smaller city!

On a church trip to Washington about eight years ago, we stopped in Missoula. We were only there for a few hours, but I thought it was such a beautiful place. I liked it so much that a year or two later, I considered going to college at the University of Montana. (When I got the brochure, they emphasized how it was the perfect place to live if you’re into outdoor sports. I am not, and decided against it.)

While we were there, I remember eating at a place that I think was called McKenzie River Pizza. It was the best pizza ever, so fantastic that even so long afterwards I remember that it had a whole-wheat crust, pesto instead of tomato sauce, and eggplant and artichoke hearts.

Now I am hungry again.
