Outer Banks

I hate fighting crowds and loved visiting the Outer Banks during the off season. Everyone is very friendly, as long as you don’t have to use the bathroom. There are temp toilets (port-a-pots) scattered over the area, though, for desperate times :) Also, everything closes when the sun goes down, at least during the off season when I visited. My boyfriend and I had a blast just wandering around.

This is a really nice place, but it can get pretty pricey so don’t come if you’re on a budget. Luckily for me, I have some family who live here. Some of the notable things to see here are the Jockey Ridge dunes, the Wright Brothers museum, the Lost Colony, Cape Hatteras, and Ocracoke island. The beaches are great too, of course.

This was a long drive. I would like to take more time and look again.

I’ve been to the OBX many times, but only on the off season, during the spring and fall, when its cheaper and less crowded. We’ve done B&Bs in Nag Head and Corolla, and beach houses in Hatteras and Rodanthe with the dogs – really great experiences all around.

We went in on renting a house for a week with family. It was very relaxing! You need a car to get around to dffrent stuff. We want to go back again!

It’s beautiful. A place to hang out with family.

I loved this place. It’s been a few years, but I think we went in June. Lots of tourists, but still a wonderful spot with a lot of great places to stay.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!

Don’t go in the Spring before Memorial Day! The Lighthouses won’t be open for climbing. (That means go to another beach for Spring Break!) Yes…the Outer Banks are incredibly beautiful….but not half of what they are without their famous awesome lighthouses!
