Zion National Park

Truly the most beautiful National Park I’ve visited in North America. We went in the winter when the shuttles are not running and you can drive your car up the main road. It was uncrowded and a great way to see the park. Red rock roads, massive canyons…. the white snow with the red rock was a gorgeous contrast. The trails are relatively easy to hike (though slippery in the winter) but you can literally go for hours without seeing anyone else.

We visited Zion National park in late Oct 08. Although not required, I recommend staying at Zion Lodge. Views from the suite are amazing. Trails for hiking start right from the entraince to the lodge; shuttles are convinient but get too crowded. We have not used a car which was parked all the time; added more time to hiking and wondering around.

when i worked at the utah shakespearean festival we used to go here on our days off. it’s by far one of my most favorited places on earth.

Is cold, but it’s a beautiful time since the yellow tree leaves contrast beautifully with the red cliffs. Gorgeous!

I have to say I liked Zion better than the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is amazing, but it’s become somewhat cliche. Zion is amazingly beautiful and yet few people know about it.

Simply breath-taking. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

Zion has many different trails of varrying difficulty. You can get in and hike the area and tailor your hikes to your moods or physical condition. Unlike the grand canyon where you are committed for a day if you want to hike zion offers a lot of choices.

It’s a bit crowded at times but the fact that you can break your day up and experience nature first hand is really awesome.

went in may. stayed at the best western in springdale. not a lot of people at the park so it was great.

our favorite National Park to hike in…I’ll have to look up the hotel we stayed at outside the park. Desert Pearl Inn smothing like that…highly recommend. You can walk from the hotel right into the park. All shuttle anyway so it’s the best way to go.
