Delegación Xochimilco

if you do this, you have to go with friends and get some beers from the vendors in other boats. (this is being suggested by someone who rarely touches alcohol.) i might have went with friends, but we were all tired at the end of our trip and just zoned out on the boat and didn’t really partake of anything. the trip along the canals could be really fun if you have some food and drink and perhaps stop at some places along the way. i missed my chance at getting a nice gift for my mom from one of the vendors because i just was not full of xochimilco spirit at the time. so i recommend going when you have the spirit of fun present and not grouchy.

it was a lot of fun on the boats. The floating Maroches-spelled wrong playing. Great time.

Look for a trajinera (Xochimilco’s version of a gondola-boat) with your name on it, or at least the closest to your name. If you can’t ride it, then photograph it ;)

I would skip it, having many other worthwhile places to visit. if you like to party you might enjoy it because you can drink and relax with a group of friends, but the water is anything but clean, your sense of smell will tell you that.

A welcome calm contrast to Mexico City, great fun.

I had alot of fun here. I especially liked the boats of mariachis that would come up beside us and play for awhile.

it was my last day in mexico so my dad brought me here as a going away thing with sum family and it was funny because when we got their i saw a boat dat said “ADIOS MIRIAM” which means “good bye miriam” in spanish and my name is miriam and it was my last day their so i told my dad i wanted to go on it and we did and then mariachi came and sang it was very fun…

Grab some beers and a whole bunch of friends and you’ll have a great time.
