Bellingham

I was raised in Bellingham and I have great respect for its beauty and grace.

I lived there from 1975 to 1985. Good memories!

One of my favorite cities.

I lived here for fifteen years. Great town to grow up in.

Lived here for about 6 months in 1998. IF you were NOT a WWU student, goooood luck finding ANY sort of employment! Geographically beautiful, but not terribly friendly people. Suggest The Quarterback Pub and the arboretum for fun hiking!

Going there from Seattle, it took me a while to get used to it. But 2 years before I graduated, I met someone who was adventurous and I had a chance to explore not only Bellingham but also all the surrounding areas including Mt. Baker, Vancouver and the Cascades. And it was worth it! There’s a lot of beauty if you take the time to venture out.

I go to Western Washington University right now, so I’m here every day. Humans and nature get along better here than anywhere I can imagine. Small town atmosphere plus an appreciation for the great outdoors.

Although I love traveling and now live elsewhere, this will always be home.

Lots of great shops and really good food. My favorite places were out of town, like Mount Baker and Lummi Island. Lots of great people, but I am a warm weather creature and I did not dig the cool temps.

It is a really hip town, but you should be aware that due to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, B’ham is pushing alot of development projects and cracking down on the hardcore hippie types.

I would say that it is a very safe area and has a ton of stuff to do for families. Check out the restaurants because there are a lot of world class chefs that are hiding in the B’ham area!
