Amalfi

In Spring 2003, I traveled to the Amalfi Coast and it was amazing. The streets spiral down towards the water and are lined on both sides by unique markets. Shops fade away into restaurants as one closes in on the beach. The beach is actually small, rounded graphite-colored pebbles instead of sand. The restaurant some ten meters away from the coast’s edge has a killer linguini.

It is
like a dream.
Just go there.
Don’t go to work tomorrow.
Go to Amalfi.

My fiance and I are considering this for our honeymoon next summer. I’ve always wanted to go to Italy for my honeymoon but unfortunately we are getting married in early July and it may be a bit expensive. But from what I’ve seen it’s absolutely beautiful and I hope we make it there – it would be a magical honeymoon.

and one task was planning a weekend away in Italy and you had to pick a location in a region. I ended up going for Amalfi. There is a very nice ex-monastery which caught my eye as being perfect as a base. The food of the area really appeals too.
I had haver even thought about going to Italy before this but now it is definitely on my must do list for a European trip.
