Macon

About a month ago. Some of the nicest antebellum houses anywhere. Once you get away from the antebellum area, the town is really trashy. I stayed in a Motel 6 and it was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room stank of cigarettes and weed. I kept getting woken up by theses loud-mouthed inbred, slack-jaw pieces of garbage. I finally contacted management to shut them up. I slept soundly when I did get a chance to sleep because I had my Kimber .45. I wish those slack-jaws had tried to give me problems. That would have been a one way conversation. I made an intentional inordinate amount of noise when I got up in the morning. You could very disntinctly smell someone smoking “something” when I left. Don’t ever stay in that hotel unless you are armed and don’t care about getting any quality rest!

I went to school here, too. And to church, a lot.

The Indian Mounds are a great place to visit; they are beautiful in late fall, and have a very interesting history in regards to Georgia.

I went with a history class I had a few semesters ago. The professor knew a lot about the mounds, so that was good. Getting on top of the mounds is one of the most impressive things about it: these were made by hand!

It’s a horrible place to live if you don’t watch TV all night long. All anyone does in Macon is shop at chain stores and eat at chain restaurants. Every time a new chain restaurant opens everyone tells you how “modern” Macon is. I think they are just jealous of Atlanta.

Macon has no soul. The locals affinity for all things Generic has driven all the true color out of the whole area. Like I said, it’s all just one giant stripmall that you could find anywhere else in the South.

Southern hospitality is a joke too. If you open your mouth and the wrong accent comes out, you can kiss hospitality goodbye.

If you want to see Georgia, go to Savannah.

everything you have heard about a small Southern town is true in Macon. we used to go sometimes there to escape from atlanta

Moved to Macon when i was 13 and left to join the military at 18yo. I call this my home town, and refer to it as “Little Atlanta”
