Flint aka: Flint-town

The school is great, Kettering University, but the city has been going downhill ever since the automotive industry turned it’s back on it. It’s sad to see how such a booming city so full of life can turn into what Flint is today.

My brother Tim went to what was then called General Motors Institute here. I’m not sure what the school is called now. I visited him there 2-3 times.

Flint, MI is the place of my birth – pretty big change, eh? I was born there in 1967 and moved away, first in 1985, then in 1997. I now live in Mechanicsville, VA.

Travelling to Flint? Stop and eat at Halo Burger – Best burger in the world, hands down.

When I get more inspiration I’ll add more.

People seem to have a lot of bad things to say about this city, but I have more loyalty to it. I was born there, and still go there quite often to hang out at my favorite concert venue. Any good-sized city has it’s ghetto and problems, but there are interesting things to see here.

What else can you say about the place you grew up but that it’s really all I’ve ever known. I’ve never been much of anywhere else and I’m sure if I went to another place it would probably seem like another nation….

My home town. A lot of history here, but the town sort of lost a lot over the years.

It’s tough being so close to home…
There’s a lot of history here and they are really trying to bring it back. I love the cultural area. And, the downtown is neat, there’s a lot of other atmosphere too. Just check it out.

There’s a sizable deaf community because MSD (Michigan School for the Deaf) is located here.

We toured the city in the early morning hours – 1 to 2 a.m.
Would not do that again!
