Knoxville

If you visit Knoxville be sure to go down to the Old City. There isnt too much there but its a nice historic area that features some cool coffee shops, resturaunts and clubs. I like this area the best. It’s always lively on Friday and Saturday nights.

Go to the Downtown brewery, we found great micro brew for cheap! A pint was around $1 to $2 on a Friday night during a football game weekend (UT vs AL). Incredible!

I lived here from June 1994 to October 1995.

Maybe we just didn’t know where to go, but there wasn’t all that much going on here. Well, there was an opera festival going on downtown. I was disappointed in the downtown actually. It seems like Knoxville has moved out to the mall and shopping areas. If you’re not into chain store shopping, or UT football, I wouldn’t recommend this. The highlight of our visit was an Indian restaurant and McKay’s used bookstore…they were both awesome!

It’s good to go to if you happen to be in the area. It’s not something you’d plan to do (unless you wanted to see a UT game). As the gentleman commented, nothing extraordinary about it but it was good to see it.

I visited for a day. It was fun, but it was a bit run-down. Nice buildings, but somehow unremarkable (in my opinion.) This is my favorite photo of Knoxville. It looks like it may be cool at first, but he more you see, the less interesting it is…

I went to Knoxville just to see the World’s Fair. Most of what I saw at the fair was pedestrian commercial stuff, like it was trade fair or something, but I enjoyed Knoxville.

The last time I went to this place was for Global Finals for Destination Imagination. It was unbelievable. I hope I get to go back someday.
