A rumor about this place
I think it would be cool to come and ski. I understand that is either #1 or close to being the #1 place in the U.S. for presrciption drug abuse!

The skiing around the area is pretty good. I wasn’t too impressed with the city itself, but this was before the Olympics were there, so it may be better now.

we stopped here for a night on our way back to the airport from yellowstone. but it was a really cool city. the one night we stopped for happened to be the night the harry potter book was coming out. as soon as we got to our hotel we turned on the tv and this book store was on the news because it was having a harry potter party. so we went out to get dinner but couldn’t find any places that werent bars. so we walked in to whole foods and ran into a guy who recommended this middle eastern place. their food was delicious. after our meal we found out that the place next door was the bookstore on the news. there were all these people in costume. and we all got on the news!

Great city with lots to do, but expect road construction. I’m from Utah and I swear to God, the roads are always being torn up and rebuilt.

I visited Salt Lake city to take in the 2002 Winter Olympics. Visiting the city on those pretenses didn’t give me a chance to see a lot of the city. Am sure the it has a lot more to offer than what I was able to see.
I only said that it is Worth Visiting because I did have a blast during my time there, but I think I would have enjoyed the Olympics no matter where it was being held.
One thing that does stand out was going to Moe’s tavern after sampling some of the Salt Lake City’s night life.

I lived in the SLC for a while, about 3 years. It took some getting used to, but I came to really love it. I’m moving back as soon as my son is born. It sure beats Montana!

A boring town with the most boring airport in Ive ever been to. But, I do recommend The Old Spaghetti Factory. Awesome food and a fantastic atmosphere. Other than that, don’t come here on vacation unless you’re a Mormon.

Free shuttle from the SLC Airport to downtown, including a small tour around the downtown. The shuttle is operated by the Temple Square folks – Very nice people, they will explain about the buildings downtown and the history of SLC without any religious pressure.
The downtown has many large buildings, some of them amazing feats of architecture (The Conference Center hosts 21,000 and is built without any pillar), is open, and feels lively, although everyone is dressed up (probably working at the numerous Mormon missions nearby).
There are many free tours. Do take the 40-minute tour of the Conference Center building, see the Auditorium, and the view from the gardens on top.
