If you like wrinkled old WASPs and golf, then…

Besides being beautiful (although I personally could not live here I like green grass); there are an infinite number of excellent gourmet restaurants here. You just need to watch out for all the bleached blond hair that floats through the restaurants.

and arrived in Scottsdale in the 90s. Stayed at Four Seasons, definitely going back in May/June when the prices drop. Enjoyed all of the activities/classes from salsa to margarita making, stargazing, wine tasting, Zumba, Spinning, Stretch, yoga, fast paced hiking..Pinnacle Peak. Didn’t eat much out other than a microbrewery in town and Cowboy Ciao in Old Scottsdale. Got up to do hikes at sunrise, sipped drinks on the rooftop area at sunset. Spa was nice, spent a lot of time at the fitness area.

Went here for a conference, but loved the beautiful mountains and surrounding scenery. The ambiance was relaxed and there were plenty of shops and restaurants to see. Gallery walk in the evenings was very entertaining as well.

Check out the scenic drive along Scottsdale road north of the city.

I can’t decide which name I like better.

I suppose if you’re a tourist with the $$$ to spend $400.00 a night for a (very nice) resort hotel room, then it might be worthwhile (personally I’d rather have a beach nearby).

It does have some good restaurants. That’s about the only reason I go there.

Otherwise it’s noted (locally) for well-off right wing snobs.

Seriously, it’s not a very interesting place. It’s a wealthy suburb of Phoenix with a touristy “old town” downtown and not much else.

And if you live in the area…well I’ve already put my in $.02 on that. :)

FIDDLESTICKS BUYER BEWARE! In June of 2007, our entire family from Boulder, Colorado paid for a full day of activities at Fiddlesticks in Scottsdale, AZ, and after we paid were informed that everything was broken (miniature golf, bumper boats AND laser tag). When we asked for a refund, we were denied and were pushed, shoved, and attempted to be forcibly removed from the premises by a Mr. Marquis. Thankfully we put it on a credit card so we could dispute it, but only go there if you want to RUIN your entire vacation to Scottsdale…what a nightmare. This is a true story…

check out Barcelona. It’s a restaurant but at night, it’s a hip poppin’ bar and club. They have live music with awesome singers/band. The waitresses were cute too ;)

I loved Scottsdale. The Hilton is a great hotel to stay in during your visit. I only wish I had more time there.

I do a lot of business in Scottsdale. Maybe at some point I will move here. It’s a beautiful town.
