Greensboro

My dad lives about 45 minutes from here, and I always pass through it when I go to visit him, and I sincerly love this city. It’s very confusing once you’re in there, though, because there’s so much traffic and different roads, so be sure to bring a map or GPS; I’ve been down there a million times and I’m still going to bring one when I go back down there on the 29th of this month to see Avenged Sevenfold! :)

My husband and I just returned from a trip to see relatives in Greensboro. It’s a nice little town with some great historical landmarks. We had a great time.

With so many other wonderful places in the world, why would someone want to go to Greensboro, NC? It’s pretty lame. If someone could tell me what I am missing out on here, I would love to know. I have lived here for two years this August and I am pretty much over it. It’s not the worst place I’ve lived in NC (Charlotte) but it’s in the top 3.

Was helping friends move back to New York. The high point of actually being here, you know, for 2 hours, was eating Sonic and seeing a huge elevated mailbox intended to send letters to Jesus from. Noteworthy.

Also, if you come check out Natty Greenes. One of the best brew houses/bar/restaurants in the state.

First round of the Men’s NCAA basketball tournament last year.

Has a ton of parks, lakes, and trails. Its a great smelling city (fresh). Its feeding off of Raleigh and Charlotte for growth. Not the best place for job opportunities, but it its improving. Has a nice social scene downtown that improves every year. Was voted 40th best place for singles, so it is doing something right.

This is a great area to raise your kids in. However, don’t be surprised if they decide to flee the coop in search of some entertainment every once in a while. I would definitely recommend this place to older couples. The fall scenery is absolutely beautiful and there are several fall activities to participate in. Greensboro is definitely a place that you would want to live if you want to get away from the hustle, bustle of a BIG city, but you still want some options available to you as far as entertainment. I personally don’t want to live here but I am fully capable of admitting that it is a beautiful place to live if you go to the right area.

Not much to do there. Pretty mundane.

i caught a ride in, to the exit with the convention center. the night of a TI concert (barf). there were rowdy rap fans and cops everywhere and right after i got there a tremendous thunderstorm started. being homeless and trying to find a spot to camp was impossible. too many cops anyways. i had to call my mom and beg for her to pay for a hotel room. at least i got 2 showers. then hitching out was hell. so many people pulled over then sped off as soon as we got to the car. and things were thrown at us.

also, my car was stolen the first time i came to greensboro.
