Montgomery

I have been to Montgomery several times. I have flown into Maxwell AFB on a cross-country. Not a bad place. I can’t say the same about Montgomery! The town is a statisticaly violent place that has quite a few homicides! I would definitely recommend carrying a weapon if you visit! My friend told me a story about some gang members on one of the highways that would throw cinder blocks and bricks off of an overpass here. When the car stopped, they would rush down and attack the stunned driver and passengers. I would have shot every last one of them. My advice: Keep going to B-ham or the ATL! This town has absolutely nothing! Don’t you just love places that have 1) nothing good to do or see, and 2) May cost you your life because they are so violent. Just keep going!

my grandparents live in prattville so i’ve been to montgomery a few times unfortunately you can do most the stuff in one day but i would definately reccomend going to a biscuits game

It’s not a bad place at all, but I think it was kindda boring :P Going to Atlanta was better

I used to live there years ago. I didn’t like it very much, I think one reason is they moved the Shakesphere Festival from my hometown of Anniston, Alabama to Montgomery before I moved there. So I was missing the culture, in an otherwise small one horse town.

Neat place, but not a lot to do or see.

I used to have to go here for family stuff on thanks giving.. so far away from where I live and so sucky. Dont even give it a chance.

Long story short….If I wasn’t wearing my “Marines” shirt while filling my car at a gas station at 2am in Montgomery, I would have lost my all of my belongings and so would my passenger. If I ever go back to this city, it will only be to find the jerks (Im keeping this rated PG) who tried to take what I own! IMO this is just another East St. Louis on the map, and thats not a good thing.

Went to Montgomery for the weekend to visit the Civil Rights Memorial, Rosa Parks Museum, and the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church & parsonage (where Dr. King lived and preached)

My husband and I just recently spent 5 weeks living in Montgomery in a hotel room while volunteering with the ARC after Hurricane Katrina hit. While we were putting in a lot of hours volunteering, we found time to hit all the tourist spots on our off hours. I highly recommend the Rosa Parks Museum, Old Town, The First White House of the Confederacy, The Civil Rights Memorial and a must is the tour through the city on the trolly or the old bus. So much history in this small city and definitely worth a visit.
