Busch Gardens: Sheikra!

I am a huge sports fanatic. American professional football being my second favourite sport behind Major league baseball.

In 1997 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers changed their jerseys from the previous (and awesome) puke orange color to an unbelievably cool red and pewter pirate themed jersey! And they got a new stadium called Raymond James and they put a big freaking pirate ship in the middle of it! Then they drafted Warrick Dunn out of Florida St…

The rest is history…

I fell in love.

In one fell swoop I fell in love with a football team and an entire town!

The adventure continues…
The team was coached by a gentleman/coward named Tony Dungy and they featured Mike Alstott, Warren Sapp, Booger McFarland, Hardy Nickerson, Shelton Quarles, Derrick Brooks, John Lynch, Donnie Abraham, Simeon Rice, Jacquez Green, Trent Dilfer (and later Brad Johnson), Ronde Barber, Keenan McCardell, Dwight Smith, etc. etc. and they later hired “Chucky” Gruden and won the SUPER BOWL in the January air of 2003!

What a great day that was!

And also I have family in Tampa but I’ve only visited them once and I don’t remember much about the actual town…but their football team sure as heck RULES!!!! GO BUCS!

We rent out a vacation unit every May, and it’s the perfect vacation! Nice weather, relaxing atmosphere.

Samurai Blue Sushi in Ybor City!

i want to visit my cousin and her new husband! she just came home to visit and brought him to meet the family. we had a great time. they are so cute! and besides, i would love to go someplace sunny and warm after months of st. louis winter…

I didn’t really see much of the city, I only was there for a day and a half with my boyfriend to meet his dad.

It’s brilliant. I’ve lived here all my life and it’s good really. A great part of Florida. Busch Gardens is AMAZING. Def a must see. I live there during the summer and there’s always something new to see and it’s always great. So you should come by. No place like Florida. No place like Tampa Bay.

I grew up in Tampa not far from USF. I grew up visiting Bush Gardens fairly often, frequently with annual passes when they were $10 a pop.

I’ve visited the Florida Aquarium when it was brand new. I’ve watched Ybor City go from a nifty place for “nightlife” to a yuppy haven of strip malls and cinemas. (Even Starbucks moved in! Yick!)

Visited Weekee Watchee a few times when I was very young. Made annual trips to Roger’s Christmas House in [town] not too far north of Tampa.

I got married the first time in Tampa, had my babies in Brandon, lived in Hyde Park, Lutz (“loots”), bought a house in Dade City (Pasco County).

I belonged to the SCA (Barony of Wyvernwood) for a couple years.

I’m not fond of Florida on the whole, but Tampa is my hometown and I have some fond memories.

This place was great! We went to the Aquariam, the Zoo, and rode the trolly around town. It was so much fun! The buildings are BEAUTIFUL here…but that IS coming from a small town girl. I wanna live in this area someday. Tampa is the PERFECT city to live close to!
