The first time I went to this place

I spent way too much time here while pursuing my Bachelor’s at UNM. Fun place for students. Easy to get around on foot.

A tip I have about this place

If you’re looking for a great hike at Tent Rocks Canyon, contrary to it’s placement here… it’s not in Albuquerque, but it is close. It’s a national monument, located on BLM lands: 40 miles southwest of Santa Fe and 55 miles northeast of Albuquerque – the nearest town is Cochiti Pueblo, so you’ll want to start you adventure by climbing into a car, bring plenty of water.. and be advised that it’s not within cell phone coverage.

A tip I have about this place

This is a GREAT PLACE.
The people are good and willing to help you get to where you want to go… not like New York.

Dress warmer than you might expect to or you will learn the cold hard truth…ha ha ha.

ENJOY!!!

A tip I have about this place

Albuquerque will always be my home town. I have since relocated to the wintery north. The thing I miss most is not the weather but rather the food. My tip is that anyone visiting or passing through stop at the FRONTIER or a GOLDEN PRIDE. They are quick and always good with truly excellent breakfast burritos.

Albuquerque is a really spread out city. Be sure to visit Old Town. The church has beautiful prayer cards to buy. There are a lot of locals selling jewerly. Museums are also nearby.

Unforgettable

This last trip to my parents was a most unforgettable one.
but melted when it hit the ground.. ” A friend of mine named Sue came, and drove me to the airport , with my dog Rosa.
I was paid 16 dollars in meal tickets for having a good attitude. Was told to go to B area so I got a cup of coffee, and walked miles to be there. I did not sleep that night and Rosa did not want out of her Taxi.
elderly wife. When Rosa saw the elderly woman she jumped in her taxi, and stayed until we got home Once we got home she felt safe in her surroundings.

Rosa and I finally got out of the Houston terminal at 07:30 AM. From the sky above Albuquerque we saw little reason if any to close the airport.. Of course that was just the beginning of things, for the crippling snow would last thirty hours and shut the town down, and would even stop Rumsfeld from going to President Fords funeral.
Not all of the town shut down, just the majority of it. Highways 40 & 25 was shut down, as well as the state. Governor Richardson called for a state of emergency. Then Monday through Wednesday night they called for more snow. Then there was more snow to be called for on the sixth, when I would be going back to Indiana!
On the return trip home we were stuck in the air for half an hour. We were there this time due to thunder showers and not snow. It was interesting to watch the thunder storms from above the storms, and not below. It shows us what we do not see on earth, and how safe a storm is.
Then when my driver in Indianapolis stopped to pick up his

well

i wouldn’t necessarily recommend albuquerque as a vacation destination. and i, myself, wouldn’t want to LIVE in albuquerque… but if you live in the general area, and want to go to a good bar/music venue, albuquerque has a pretty good scene.

places to check out: burt’s tiki lounge (highly recommended), atomic (not as awesome as burt’s, but it doesn’t suck), and the launchpad.
