Kansas City

My wife and I spent last Thursday through Sunday in KC and had a great time. We got a great discount at the Raphael Boutique Hotel at Country Club Plaza. So we did some shopping there, and also visited the Nelson Atkins Museum, which is very nice. The new wing is interesting, and of course the museum has one of the 3 giant Monet Water Lillies paintings. Then we ate dinner at the Power & Light district downtown. They were setting up for a free concert outdoors at KC Live.

The next day we went to the River Market area, and toured the Steamboat Arabia museum. Amazing amount of stuff from 1856 found on a sunken steamboat in the middle of a cornfield, that used to be part of the Missouri river. Saturday night we saw the Chiefs play their first pre-season game. It was raining, but fun anyway.

KC is one of my favorite cities to visit in the Summertime.

We just did a whirlwind weekend before back to school.

I am going there tomorrow! My daughter will be attending Kansas City Art Institute. Yeh, baby!

Two years ago, today, my hubby and I went to KC,MO for our 3rd Anniversary celebration. We had a blast with the downtown fountain area and the food was AWESOME! Best of all, there really wasn’t a huge crush of people in the metro area to make us feel crowded and insignificant.

Everything closes at 5pm. Everything. Good luck trying to get something to eat for dinner.

i liked that thrift store underneath the church. and the bar that didn’t have any beer on draft. and the shows.
