Spent a summer there, and spent most of that summer indoors lotioning up every hour because the heat was too intense. The only highlight was going to Ciudad Juarez to shop but even there it was miserably hot…

I was there like during the time my brother was station’d in fort bliss. So, I lived close to the base gates. So from the time, I was there, there wasn’t much to do at all. It felt like all those places I’ve seen weren’t that great at all. I just wanted to get out of there fast. So I only lasted 3 months being there cause it just was boring the hell out of me. Besides the freaking sand storms. An the time it snowed. That was the only thing, I enjoyed. I did enjoy the hike trail on the franklin mountain. The was high, as you go more up it starts to get more colder. It was a cold season, but that didn’t try to stop us. Just the way down was crazy, ended up with cuts on my leg. But, that is the only part, I ever enjoyed they do have a hell of a lot of flea markets tho. Well my stay was short lived but I guess, most parts were ok and the rest was just boring the hell out of me. So left early. An it just wasn’t doing any good on my skin. Getting crazy rashes on my arms. Hated it.

“Sometimes I’m asked what in the world I could find so special about the dried-up, bare, empty country I obviously prefer to live and work in. First I say I was born in it, and then I say, furthermore I love it for the intensity of its sunlight, the clarity of its sky, the hugeness of its space, its reaveled structure of naked earth’s primal form without adornment.” Quote by Tom Lea, well-known local artist.
The U.S. has so many cities which look just like the next. Same roadsigns, same stores, same restaurants, same suburban sprawl. The best thing about El Paso is: it’s unique.

stayed in a pretty nasty hotel, ate at a pizza hut where a little girl was putting her fingers in the salad bar and i ended up with food poisoning. so maybe it was the experiences i had there, but even driving through the town, it seemed like there wasn’t much to it!
