I lived here for 6 months. It was awful. The people are not very friendly and there is a lot of crime. There are many good things about Indy, such as having a terrific Reuben sandwich at Shapiros, or the International markets downtown. If you go for a visit, there are many places that are interesting to see. I just did not like living here.

In 1973 and 1975, I went there to watch the INDY 500. Both races ended up being rain-delayed, and the 1973 race was marred by tragedy (death of Swede Savage).

I grew up in Indy. It’s a nice place to visit, but not a nice place to stay. It grows boring real quick…
Broadripple is a very laid-back, hippie-ish area with a lot of fun bars and other hang outs. The canal in downtown Indy is a good place to take a date – a nice walk on nights when the weather’s good, and plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity.
I’d rather travel south to Bloomington. Indiana University and Oliver Winery! :-)

The last two times I was in Indianapolis, it was to see Jasper High School preform in the Indiana State Marching Band competition. Before this I had been in this band, for four years, marching every year in the glorious RCA Dome.

I went with my youth group to Idianapolis this summer. It was exciting!! the mall is fantastic! and i met 3 homeless people, whom i now call my friends. Marty, Alice and Gary. They always hung around Steak ‘N’ Shake. =] i miss them very much.
This was a great experience!

The city has a nice center portion with the roundabout with the statue however I found the city to be a little strange. The afican american community lives in the poor area and the crime is bad. The city is like a huge midwestern suburb and there is no art scence or unique culture other the the Indy 500 and the Hoosiers. If you like sports this may be a place for you.

Good old “Nap Town”. I can smell the Peonies in bloom and hear the roar of the Indy cars. “I long for my Indiana home!

Basically, even tho we are located smack in the midwest and in the middle of wack-Indiana with cornfields and KKK members (lol) Indy (the city) has a lot of history, from the Eli Lilly company to historic african-american figures, to the INdiana University Purdue University campus, to Nap winning the SuperBowl this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Canal is an awesome place to take a lover, Broadripple is a great place to party, the Conseco Fieldhouse is huge!
