A tip I have about this place

The humidity makes walks in summer days seem like you’re wading through mushroom soup. There’s a stillness in those summer nights that’s simply captivating. You can’t help but be enveloped in Philadelphia’s embrace. Fireflies. Brick buildings. Cheesesteaks. Pat’s and Geno’s? -decide for yourself. Soft pretzels. Tasty Kakes. Museums. Rocky Balboa. But the best part - the people! They’re genuine and friendly.

A review of this place: Little time

Even though I’ve only had a little time on a couple of occasions to explore, this is a fantastic city, lots to see, lots of US history obviously, amazing outdoor art, and of course the cheesesteaks. Wandering around near city hall is just great. Hoping to go back and make a real vacation of it.

Born & raised at the playground is where I spent most of my days...

No that’s not true, I was actually staying in King of Prussia on a business trip but couldn’t resist visiting Philly in my free time. Amoung the general upbeat atmosphere the city gave off I felt as though I had never left Nashville. The streets are a bit crazy, narrow and crowded. Two way streets are turned into one ways as large delivery trucks inhibit the flow of traffic forcing you to drive blindly into oncoming traffic while being berrated by the natives behind you that are irritated by your lack of willingnesses to be the blind leader of an involuntary game of chicken. It took a day to get used to. Parking garage rates are exorbitant but if you drive around a little and don’t mind doing a little extra walking you can find some decent prices. Great shopping on South street. I was a bit scared to enter the stores as they look pretty high end but the prices are decent (says this young up & coming but not quite there college student who doesn’t have parents that can pay her tuition nor an allowance). I especially liked this Mexican insprired trinket store and a consignment shop.

Oh and I didn’t notice a city name but somewhere between Philly and King of Prussia off the main highway there is a place that is lush and green and has a beautiful jogging trail.

Why I want to go to this place

My uncle and his wife bought a hose in phili. They said they have a great finished basement for guests. I miss my uncle. He is the only family member of mine that got along with my husband right off the bat. I respect him for having the ability to grant trust and respect upfront. Although everyone in my family gets along with my husband now, it took them all sometime, where as my unle in phili embraced him as my partner. It seems like now I only see him at funerals. Why is it that we wait until someone dies to get together?

It's where I grew up

I don’t miss the snow, the murders, or the filth. But I miss the cheese steaks, the hoagies, the pretzels, the zoo, the nightlife, the shopping…
