Hopefully I will be able to visit again next weekend while I am going out to see my sister again for thanksgiving. I would love that, since I didnt get much of a chance to actually go site-seeing last time…

But of what I did see, i absolutely loved it!!

Gorgeous city! This is actually the first big city that I have visited.. I was so excited while driving through it, seeing all the names of the restaurants and stores in Spanish, Thai Vietnamese, Italian, or Korean… very interesting and different compared to where I grew up… the city is so diverse and so active… there is a lot of night life there (i thought of it at a smaller version of New York City, from how people consider NYC the city that never sleeps)…. I will never forget the way the city looked as if it came directly out of a fairy-tale book, since at night the buildings, sports-stadiums and bridges were all lit up in purple lights… and I will also never forget the awesome Philly-Steak sandwiches… they are a must!! I totally recommend this city ;)

Home of the CheeseSteak by Andre White

If you haven’t had a Cheese Steak in Philly, then you truly haven’t experienced one. I’m more of a Falone’s steak guy (semi-local place in a not-so-tourist friendly part of town), but its hard to go wrong anywhere in the city. Hit South Street when the weather is good and its just fast boats and eye candy till the clubs open. Check out the zoo or cross the river for the Aquarium in Jersey. The place just oozes history with a bit of new sprouting up all around. Just remember to leave your Cowboy’s / Redskins jersey in the suitcase.

Worth visiting. Not worth living in. by Katie

Great museums, beautiful murals all over the city, good diversity of people/ stuff to do.

Dilapidated, smelly, crowded, rude people, fees for EVERYTHING. Parking in Center City is a joke. Job market sucks unless you have a B.A., then you will find no problem getting a fast food restaurant or department store to hire you.

My husband and I are thinking about moving to phili. I graduate from massage school in march and then we are hoping to move from seattle. Our goal is to move to NYC but we figured this would be a good stepping stone. we are both from northeast ohio so we want to be close to our families but not too close. Does anyone have any info that can help us? we would like to be somewhere trendy, artsy type with lots of good places to eat, shop, and hang out in walking distance. Also what are the public transportation options like?

hometown by Claire

I was born here and lived until I was 8. Then to New Jersey we went! I turned 18 and hightailed it right back to the city! Now I’m back in Jersey but just over the river so I can go there whenever I want. It’s a beautiful city with beautiful people and so much history!

American history abounds by Imagine87

I really enjoyed our quick stay in Philly…had a cheesesteak, went to Independence Hall and had an awesome time imagining our founding fathers creating history in this city.
