was with a human rights delegation. it’s an interesting cultural trip when contrasted with life in el paso.

Parts of Juarez are quite pretty and worth seeing. There is, however great poverty in Juarez—as in most Mexican cities, so be prepared to see dramatic differences between the very rich and the very poor. Unfortunately, most American tourists only see the “main drag” of tourist shops and clubs on Juarez Avenue and think they have experienced Juarez. Not true.

but of course it worth visiting! ...it’s a wonderful border city; it’s full of culture contrasts, popular art, & good food …and well… it has violence and poor people, but what city doesn’t have that?....

I went on a church affiliated mission trip. It was a very rewarding experience and definitely plan on going back in the future.

Don’t like border towns

I came to Juarez on a mission trip. Even though there was a language barrier between most of the group, people still related very well with eachother. The people there are so kind and appreciative of what little things they have. They take a lot of pride in family and helping the community. I helped a man build a house for his daughter who was recently married and about to have a child. I purchased a hand-made bracelet from a young woman who was trying to save up money for her own wedding. Children were everywhere, enjoying life and the simple things. The man at the market on the corner gave us pop in a plastic bag so we didn’t have to pay extra for the bottles. I recommend Manzana Lift to everyone! Over all, the people were very touching and taught me a lot about being greatful for what I have and to not take life so seriously.

IVE BEEN THERE ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO!ITS A GOOD PLACE TO GO IF YOU LIKE DRINKING!THE AGE LIMIT IS 16 TO DRINK AND IN SOME BARS YOU CAN PAY 10 DOLLARS IN US CASH AND DRINK TILL DRUNK…..

Unless you actually go further into Juarez proper, I recommend staying away from the border. All there is are nightclubs, pharmacies, and oddly enough, optometrists.

last time i went was last year. I have family there and i have fun when im out there

The poor in this city was very depressing-and just on the other side of the bridge from El Paso, TX-where people live much better. Sad.
