Richmond

Richmond is not an easy city to get to know. But it’s worth it. Wild places along the river, Carytown exotics, downtown restaurants, the canal district, Maymont park and the totally awesome Maymont House are all worth exploring. In fact, the Maymont House is worth the trip alone. If you liked the castles of Ludwig the 16th you will love this house. Kept in it’s pristine state it’s a local castle full of customized beauty. Breathtaking.

there is a great scene in richmond. lots of hometown pride for RVA. i met some really cool kids, saw some great house shows at the bonezone and drank myself silly. bell isle is really cool (specially the abandoned building there) and im definately going back to see my friends there.

the spanging is really great in carytown too.

Richmond is where I was born, so how can I not recommend it? :) It is such an historical city, yet up and coming on the same note! Downtown is quaint…and the suburbs are friendly.

Go to Bottoms up for pizza – its the best you will ever have.

bring a map – avoid VCU at night ;)
