Mountains and sea....

This is a great little city, and I’ve only seen a small part of it. It feels… young. Compared to other cities in Kansai, Kobe feels like the one that’s least concerned with image and pretense. At least, that was the feeling I got from it.

Great Restaurants and Festivals

I went here a few times and the food was always great. At one festival I was among the masses who could not see the front row anywhere in sight. Then I made friends with a homeless man who let me sit upon his primitive cardboard bench that he had suredly constructed days prior to the parade. I wrote about it on my blog, Noah Dylan Goldblatt Live from Berlin

Kobe’s sort of a Westernized town. So if you’re from a Western country and are visiting Japan for a short time, this might not be that impressive. If, however, you’re Japanese or a foreigner who has been living in Japan for a long time, Kobe might be worth it.
