Harbin aka: Haerbin,哈尔滨

My mom wants to go to the Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin. And, she really means it. So, I promise her that I will accompany her to Harbin. ... Jan’07 is the plan.

It must be very very cold for us, people who live not far from the equator!!

Thanks to my first job, I went to Harbin.
But it was summer, the sun was alwas on the sky, daytime was very long.

I have been living here for 14 months and it’s great. It’s hot in the summer and crazy cold in the winter, if you come to see the ice carvings be prepared.

Lovely place. Really miss Gwoar ba ro, if I can remember the pinyin for it that is.

I also miss many of the russian restaurants in Harbin, especially “Twelve chairs” and “The Russian coffee and tea house” on Zhing Yang Da Jie.

I also miss the “Indian Kitchen” off of Gu ge li da jie, a block over from Wal-mart in Nang Gang.

I kept a blog of my time there as well. Some of it (through the waffle and nonsense) might be useful…

The Ices Festival in February is really neat, and be sure to walk across the iced-over Songhua river to the island on the other side and see the snow sculpture festival, way cool, I mean freezing.

Good place in winter time… :)
