Windsor

Was the only time. I think I was in college (and I can’t even remember who I went with), and I don’t even remember what we did there.
Probably up to no good, as we were college boys. I only vaguely remember crossing the bridge.

Every one from the Metro-Detroit area goes to Windsor for their 19th birthday ( its the legal drinking age in Canada)! Its alot of fun, great night scene, but then in the day light its soo weird looking!

I was there for a day as part of my internship in manufacturing engineering. It was a short drive from Detroit to visit our motor vehicle assembly plant in Windsor.
I saw many assembly plant workers, mostly young, about 20 years old. I imagined these jobs were really helping these young people get buying power, but I saw also that the work itself was repetitive and that I would prefer not to do it, at least not for long.

Nice place, pretty shady at night with random men wandering around outside the casinos so be careful! Windsor is notorious among American college students who want to drink but would be underage back at the states.

Everyone is so friendly! Tons of stuff to do downtown, and GOOD darn drinks!!!

Exchange your money at the Casinos and get the best exchange rate. Have a blast and It is worth going if you are under 21.

My friend and I went over on a sunday evening, figuring there had to be something to do. At least a nice place to sit and have dinner and drinks. WRONG! Nothing at all. And getting back across the bridge and past Homeland Security sucked. ;p

This is actually a nice city, more the type of city that might be good to live in, and get to know gradually, than one that you make a destination. The gardens along the water are very pretty, there are interesting restaurants, and the city is walkable and clean.

I been through here in 1981 on my way to Detroit for a youth convention with my church; we spent the night in a trailer park here; One thing though, at the Canadian border, they made us ALL get out the RV trailer, search through our stuff and get back in; that was probably a bit intimidating; I am supposed to go back to Detroit again next June and wlll probably revisit this place again; (better have my passport handy)
