It’s such an amazing place – the atmosphere’s so vibrant and lovely, and everyone’s on bicycles! I barely saw any cars there! I love the cobbled streets and quaint shops, it’s very covent garden!

A tip I have about this place

Really beautiful! Hire a bicycle. It’s cheap and you really get to see every bit of Cambridge.

Why I recommend this place to visitors

I’ve always seen Cambridge as a village-like version of London. All the sights are within walking distance, filled to the brim with history, sightseeing buses, lots of open parks and the whole place is overflowing with character. If you like London, you’ll love Cambridge – London’s shy little sister, but when she opens up you find she’s got a great personality.

Why I recommend this place to visitors

It’s gorgeous and just a nice place to meander around. I was there around Xmas in 1997. I’m a little partial as my Dad is a King’s College nut, so… :)

Feel the Old School!

Other than walking around the campus, don’t miss out punting on the Cam River in Cambridge.

I told my friends my punter was cute but they wouldn’t believe it coz the photo I took was so … convincing (see above).

I’ve been down here for about 2 years at Churchill College (Cambridge University) and I really like it. It’s a nice switch from Lambeth.

A review of this place: Favorite city on earth

I lived here for five weeks in the summer of ‘98 and was totally and completely enchanted. We saw Shakespeare performed in trees and in pubs; we found a little hole in the wall pub that seated about 10 people and camped there every night drinking hard cider; we walked by the river and had scones with the cows; we visited the church in the round and many, many colleges; we heard Evensong in three different cathedrals….

I miss Cambridge and punting on the river and misty mornings and cobblestone streets….lovely stuff.

A review of this place

You can walk, bike, or take the bus anywhere you need to go. The transportation system is fantastic. Don’t miss punting down the river. You can see all the colleges without being on your feet! By the way it costs less if you punt yourself but I warn you it is harder than it looks. Good news is WHEN you fall in the water is only 5 foot deep or so.
