Luzern, Canton of Lucerne

Amazing trip by Toner1752

I was in Luzern for my 17th birthday on 2/22/07. I even got my belly button pierced! I went with a group from school along with a group from billerica and a group from michigan. We took a boat ride around the lake and it was absolutly beautiful. The city is spectacular and the shopping is wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Luzern, Canton of Lucerne

A true painting of nature by biggreenbag

I went to a small town within Lucerne called Fluelen-Dorf. The hotel that I was staying in was across the road from this amazing blue lake. However, instead of a road, it was actually railroad tracks. I had to go through an underground tunnel (kind of like a subway underground tunnel) to get to the other side, but it was totally worth it.

I would definitely go back if I could. It was a place where I could see myself reflecting on my life or anything that crossed my mind.

I love Luzern and must go back one day! by Jen

I had the unexpected luck to go on TDY (temporary duty) with the military here for three weeks in September 2000. I found it to be the most enchanting place I’d ever been, and I still do. I want to go back one day. I always say that, if for some odd reason, I ever marry again, this would be my choice for where we would have our honeymoon. The nearby Alps are simply breathtaking and all of Switzerland is a living, breathing postcard that I wish I could stick inside my pocket and take with me always. The people are friendly, and the food is hearty and tasty, esp. nice when it’s winter and you can get hot roasted chestnuts from the street vendors. Yes, it is my favorite place in the world, so far.

I was a journalist in the active U.S. Army when I went before, and I had the amazing chance to ride on a slow, lazy boat ride across the river with some Swiss troops who fed us fondue and wine until we were fat and lazy. Oh, it was wonderful and the hospitality was unparalleled.

I stayed in the Waldorf Astoria while there.

However, haha, don’t be like me and think you can get too close to the pretty swans — they are not so charming when you get too close!

During the summer, the mesquitos are there and plentiful. But it was a very romantic city with the water and swans. It’s such a great place to visit!

well not really want to visit Luzern at the beginning coz it looks such a tiny dot in Switzerland map. But then when the train stopped I just impulsively pull myself out and never regret it.

It became my most favorite place in Europe. The first one … well I haven’t been to Prague so I wouldn’t know. But Luzern is just beautiful from every angle. Make sure that you bring somebody with you so you can share the enthusiasm together :)
