Bern aka: Berne, Bärn

I spend some time in a village close by “Frächels”.
I LOVE Mountains, rivers an lakes. in Frächels you are in between alpes and Jura. Its called “Mittelland” or “The central Plateeau”. You need a car to reach the Mountains.

Because it simply beautiful. Been here twice in past four years and it still beautiful. I love the old feeling and the grandeur of the city.

Welcome to old Europe…Bern is my favorite town in Switz. It’s amazing how a lot of tourists visiting this town but everyone behaves well. It’s nice to walk around and have a sit in the cafe.

Don’t try to fly directly to Bern. Travel to Geneve and take the train to Bern. It will cost you a lot less and also it will reward you with some extraordinary sights!

lots of clocktowers, five fun free public pools, and you can float down the river.

We stayed with friends of my parents who used to live with them in Darwin (Australia). They live all over the world for his job working for an international aid agency involved in forestry.

I remember at the time they were worried about their son who didnt’ want to study and wanted to become a DJ. I guess he wasn’t swiss enough for them :P

Lovely place :) though I don’t remember much.

The last time I went to this place was to visit my soon-to-be sister-in-law’s family. The next time I go will be to celebrate my sister-in-law’s wedding. woot.

I have not been to Bern since I was 12, when my family took my cousin from the u.s.a on a whirlwind tour of europe. It is such a beautiful city, it sort of looks like something out of a storybook…and the bears lol. I am hoping to go sometime this summer before I start work in ‘the real world’.

Came here for a day on the train from Luzern. Beautiful city – medieval streets and covered pavements. Take a trip up the Cathedral tower, the views are amazing!
