Napoli aka: Naples

This place is scary, dirty, unsafe and a waste of time. The historic district buildings are littered with spray paint. The streets have a lot of trash. I won’t even go into talking about the people I met there.

The best thing about Naples is how close it is to Pompeii and Sorrento, which are GREAT!

by writting an essay about Charles the III (of Spain) that in the end wasn’t an essay but an documentary on video, some people of my higschool had the chance to visit Naples (including me, of course)...well that’s a boring story. The thing is that we went there and stayed in families there for a week (a kind of student exchange) so we could learn how they are and live (very nice people), eat! (cause they eat a lot), drive (like crazy) and their culture. It’s a super nice city, although some say it’s dirty and noisy, and the suburbs are also worth visiting!Don’t forget to try the original pizza and the fantastic ice-creams :)

hmm…it can be pretty scary, from what I learned the people in Southern Italy were hit hard once the country changed to Euro’s. I arrived on a late train from Rome, and it was kinda freaky, my traveling companion started warning me about Naples, and the snatching that goes on- like 10 minutes before we arrived- not a good thing to do- i was freaked. So I put my sweater over my purse just in case. Luckily nothing happened, went to Capri and Pompeii safely!— Will add more later!

My experience in Napoli was pretty disturbing. I caught the train from Roma and spent a couple of hours in Naples before hopping on the Circumvesuviana to Pompeii. Well, the piazza is dirty, garbage everywhere and the air smells of rotten fish. There are people everywhere looking like zombies and following you, hoping to pick your pockets. I felt like I had to have eyes in the back of my head. I didn’t feel safe at all. Maybe only this part of Napoli is that way? I was too scared to explore further, it seems the more I walked, the worse it got.

My father was born in Napoli in 1920. He died in 1977.

I hear the house he was born in is still standing. I’d love to see it. I’d also like to meet some relatives that live there.

I hope to take my family here for our 25th wedding anniversary (2012), if not sooner. I better start saving!!!

Again it was only the airport terminal but I got a pizza and a beer. That pizza was great, I wouldnt call it authentic but definately good. Cant wait for a chance to go back

Not as pretty as most of the other large Italian cities, Naples offers you an intense experience. The beauty is not in the city; you’ll have ot take a car or a boat for that. But if it’s memorable experiences you’re after, I can’t think of a better place than Naples, the most African of Italy’s big places. Put your wallet in your front pocket and then your hand in that pocket and then head off, in any direction. The food is heavier and more tomato-laden than up North but it is delicious. Folks are quite a bit more intense even though the sun overhead is beating you to a slow-moving pulp.

Crazy town but ‘citrawarna’ people. If you want drive around Napoli always use small car! Don’t drive renault box car. Wish i had more time. Don’t forget to visit Avellino, 45 minutes drive from City Centre. There is one small town call Nusco, lovely italian town. Must visit small bar, Rosy Bar.

Yes i did find it a bit scary, not very safe but then again, the pizza is delicious as is the gelatto. walking through those allies was an awsome experienze very picturesque. also being right by the sea was great if you go visit the castle you can just pic a spot and loose yourself in your thoughts.i recommend doing your sight seeing in daylight and retiring to your hotel early.

I completely fell in love. One of my favorite Italian cities.
