A tip I have about this place

Safran the Turkish restaurant is great. (OK I am biased because I am a Turk) But it has great Turkish food and good sized portions.

Why I want to go to this place

I’m going to spend a year in Aachen as an exchange student and I will travel there on August 30th. The flight tickets from Helsinki-Vantaa to Cologne-Bonn have already been reserved. :)

Love to have coffee and cake at those tearooms called Konditorei. And don’t forget to buy delicious Printen!

A review of this place: kindness

Arriving in Aachen late one night without having arranged for accomodation, I was very impressed with the kindness of those I met. Several people went out of their way to help me find a place to sleep…one man even walked me to the hotel and negotiated a lower rate for me. How nice!

such a sad and deserted city (or village?).. Nobody shows up in the streets after 7 o’clock in the evening; although I’ve been there in summer.

Going to school at Fachhochschule Aachen

I start school at Fachhochschule Aachen in March 2006. I hope to meet new people who live here as well as people who are coming through. I also plan to take advantage of my time here to travel to other places in Europe.

Christmas in Aachen

My partner was brought up there, so we went to visit his parents for Christmas. It was absolutely beautiful, and the Christmas market was stunning. I adore the cathedral … and I drank some of the spa water! It smelled of eggs but it tasted okay, and it was so warm!! We did a lot of shopping and the prices are much cheaper than England. There are loads of good shops and cafes to see.

I’d definitely recommend a trip to Aachen to anybody, especially at Christmas time!
