Frankfurt am Main aka: Frankfurt

Beautiful place!
Loved for its efficiency, cleanliness & lovely people.. :D
And of course, the fact that we kept returning to Frankfurt am Main (esp. the stunning Frankfurt railway station) on our trips around Germany, made it feel a wee bit like home, too! :)

One of the most amazing natural history museums ive ever seen!

Do not go on a Sunday.
It is a ghost-town on Sundays, and the only place open was McDonalds.
The hotel we booked had closed down, had taken our deposit and booking anyway, and had not notified us, so we arrived and then ended up standing around for 3 hours, stranded, with nothing to do, and nowhere to go.

The Frankfurt International Airport/Bahnhof (train station) was my first launch pad to Europe. I was 19 or 20 and all alone except for my Rick Steve’s Best of Europe guide book. Thankfully I didn’t spend much time here because the staff were helpful and compound well designed enough for an scared/excited little American girl to find her connecting train and hurry along to Vilseck.

Maybe it was just me, but all there seemed to do was buy guns and find a bunch of red-light districts. Must have been in the wrong areas…

huge airport… get gps!

I am still blown away by the sheer size of Frankfurt airport it is stupendous. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the shopping and culture is great.
