Erfurt

I spent a month here “learning” German with two of my bestest friends and had a great time!

We got back from Erfurt on Sunday after a whirlwind trip celebrate our son and daughter’s 21st birthday. We were there for the Kramerbrucke Festival which is a festival to commemorate/celebrate the Kramerbrucke Bridge, which is a bridge covered with inhabited buildings built in 1325. Erfurt is a lovely place with a large number of intact medieval buildings as unlike many other places in Germany it remained largely unscathed from damage during ww2 air raids.

Yay! We will be going to Erfurt in June and July. We are going for a weekend in June whilst a medieval festival is being celebrated there and again in July this time for a week, during which time we also hope to visit Munich.

No doubt about it – we will spend a week in Germany, mostly in Erfurt but also plan to go to Munich. Yay!!!

Erfurt at this time of year is all bedazzled with Christmas – decorations, markets, everything. Adds to the medieval charm of it all.
