Wonderful water and wonderful air, but I stayed in the suburbs with a French friend – I saw the city from a different perspective. It is dirty compared to Switzerland, and the city is a bit of a sprawl away from the centre. I’m sure it’s lovely in the centre, but I was probably too young to appreciate it.

Grenoble is a great, fun place with a vibrant student population and wonderful location. I miss living there every day.

I was 4 or 5 when I last went to Grenoble. I remember taking a gondola lift up a mountain quite distinctly, and somebody yelling at me in French due to some faux pas in a grocery story. I’d like to go back some day.

Grenoble is a quite place with beautiful mountains and buildings. However, I have problems with communicating to people since I cannot speak French T_T

It’s near both the Alps and the Cote d’Azur. The Bastille is good for a day’s promenade and there’s a beautiful river that crosses the city centre. I remember there were plenty of young people, cultural stuff to do and a great tram service when I spent a month there last summer.

one of the most interesting, comprehensive and well curated survey collections of modern/contemporary art in the world – really. leave the fort, old town and nougat behind for a few hours and treat yourself to this very fine institution. the pieces are not those that are reproduced often and that may be a good thing. be surprised by unique pieces by the usual suspects as well as those by artists that you don’t hear or see often if at all. a real eye opener of a collection that can hold it’s own anywhere.

I’ve lived here for about two years working as a climbingwall designer. A great place to live if you like the mountains, especially skiing, climbing, mountainbiking, although funnily enough Grenoble is said to be the flattest city in europe!

worth seeing.
I have been living there for several years now, I just want to leave to try something new.
but you have to visit this city, seeing the mountains right behind the buildings is just wonderful!
Plus its minutes away from skying. And we have 28 megs broadband too.
Its not a very active city though, I am getting bored in there.
