Praha aka: Prague

A city full of history but also energy. The czech are simply nice and smart people, with an astounding sense of real life proportions.

Not cynical, they are just the kind of persons hard to impress and manipulate. This is due to my opinion of their rich written and theatre cultural patrimoine.

Something seems to look weird to you? Don’t worry, czechs will tell you an anecdote about that.

So student groups are no good for any place in Europe, fyi. However, Prague was our last stop on our Bavaria tour and the majority of the group left before we reached the city because it wasn’t included in their trip. The remaining 13 or so of us had an absolute riot in Prague. We went to a small underground bar and the DJ was terrible, kept on playing Latin beats (which can get repetitive), but in crazy American style we made do and danced with the native bar-goers all night. I definitely want to go back and really experience more of the city.

Errr, yeah, don’t end up in the wrong parts of town. Unless of course you’re looking for some moderately priced sex and an STD. Oh, and cab drivers who have knives stood in purposefully crafted knife holders on the dashboard. In the right parts, this city is amazing.

I want to see the place of birth of the golem,look at the same buildings kafka did,and of course to have a budvar ;)

Initially, Prague was on my backpacking route this summer but I was poorer than I thought and ended up cutting it out! Super bummed, but now I have a reason to return to Europe and explore more of the east as well

I’ll never forget my week long trip to Prague. The most architecturally breathtaking city I have visited to date. Czechs were more friendly toward americans than I suspected. The city is one of the few that you have to visit everywhere twice, once during the day, and once at night. The lighting in the evening is majestic. Not a bad club scene either. Check out Misch Mash in Praha 7.

As a history buff, I was especially excited to visit. I was not disappointed, especially at the Hradcany which just exuded a sense of the past, despite the many other tourists. The Charles Bridge also was a very atmospheric sight. One tip I would have would be to avoid the touristy and expensive Museum of Medieval Implements of Torture with its modern interpretations of torture devices and instead view the free prison tower on the Hradcany grounds, which has many similar things in an actual historic prison. I would also highly recommend the new Kafka Museum for anyone interested in literature of Franz Kafka and how the city of Prague influenced his work.

Cool architecture, tasty beers, nice cafes and I hear there’s a cool bridge and castle to be seen. Cannot wait to go there in a week!!!

I, unfortunately, only got to spend three days in this AMAZING city. I travelled Europe for a year, and this was, without a doubt, the most beutiful city i saw. Despite the obvious poverty, the buildings and architecture are breathtaking. The tiny streets, and unique little shops are wonderful, and it’s so VIBRANT. I can’t wait to return!!!
