Ghent aka: Gent

I love Ghent. I found it to be a very young city with kids doing all sorts of cool stuff. They are really into “chilling out” in this city, also really into dancing until the break of dawn. So fun. Cheap places to live for students and young people. Lots of hills, bikes, people are not as tall as in Holland so I felt a bit more at home!

All the comfort and things to see and do of a big town, but the atmosphere and friendly people like in a small village.

Been here for a weekend last summer again. Ghent is one of the nicest small Belgian towns and adorable.

Especially recommended is visiting the city during the annual festival of the Gentse Feesten. Two weeks during which the city bursts its seems with all kind of festival/party happenings.

Ghent is a small yet very pleasant city.
I have been living here since almost 10 years now, and it is surely a hidden treasure between Brussels and Bruges.
It is getting more popular these days.

When to visit? If you like city festivals, we recommend you to come during the last 2 weeks of July.
If not, the rest of the summer will do.

I’ve never been to the centre of the city, til this year.
Suprised to see that it’s actually nice :)
