Bergen

Beautiful city, right on the coast. I was technically staying in Askoy, but I visited Bergen from there. I will always have a spot in my heart for Bergen and Askoy.

Oh Bergen, with your scattering of people over 7 mountains. How I love thee. You are just a short drive from our Uncle Nils’ cottage in Hardanger and so I get to experience both your vibrant small city culture and your neighbouring fjords. See you soon my friend.

home, sweet home!

It was very rainy when I was there, but it looked like an awesome place! I’d love to go back when it’s not raining, but I hear that’s pretty rare!

the weeks up to christmas are very nice. But at christmas itself everything is closed and all Nordmen are with their family. Do not be here at christmas…

Just moved hear in November 2005, but I know the place from visiting quite often.

It does rain a lot but not all day like other places (England for example) so you tend to get alot of rain showers, and then it clears up – there are notable exceptions to this, but no more than anywhere else. Still it is a lot of rain.

Apart from that its stunning to look at, surrounded by 7 mountains and the sea.

Bergen is a wonderful city – the atmosphere is much netter than in Oslo, the people are warmer, more cheerful, more talkative – or that’s my impression, at least.

I’ve beent here in summer, so I can say there are a lot of wonderful caffees (Lillezahen!), places to go out (Garage!), and bookstores (Lesehest!). And the sea… I just loved the sea. I should have been a sailor, honestly :)

Cool city, especially the interesting history. It rains 300 days out of the year, but don’t worry – they sell umbrellas from vending machines near the fish market!

its defiently worth visiting just do remember its said that it rains more here than anywhere else in the world. Oh and most museums close around 15.00 so do not buy a bergen card unless you get up early
