Hualien

Everybody that says that Hualien is worth visiting talks almost exclusively about Taroko Gorge, which has its own separate entry. Unless you need a place from which to access the gorge, Hualien is just a small town with crappy sidewalks. The night market here is alright and stays open late enough, but that seems to be a staple of Taiwan and the one in Hualien doesn’t stick out.

Let’s be honest – Taroko Gorge = worth visiting. Hualien = not so much.

The one thing that struck me about Taiwan was this place. It had the most beautiful marble gorges I’ve ever seen. I remember wanting to buy a marble chess set, but my mom said no. It was very heavy and expensive.

I went to taiwan for 2 years as a missionary. This was the most beautiful part of the island.

Taruko Gorge is stunning, relaxing. the hikes, waterfalls, temples, hots prings and tunnels. amazing

以前不太喜歡台灣，或許是我還沒有去過太多台灣的風景區吧。不過，去過“花蓮”這個地方之後，令我對台灣的觀感大爲改變，我好像開始喜歡上台灣的風土人情了。或許，花蓮沒有太多城市的喧囂，那裏的民風依然純樸，還有就是那裏有非常自然的山山水水。對了，還在花蓮去泡過免錢的溫泉呢！這在台灣這種地方，好像還真是難得！因爲去往花蓮的道路並不好走，所以我那時候選擇從台北坐火車到花蓮，到了火車站有預先訂好的租車公司派人來接，之後就開著租來的車，開始了花蓮之旅。值得再去的地方！
